Art Class

Dominated by Pureblood students, art class at Gerhardt is an elective that any student can participate in. It covers all types of art forms and styles with the primary form being sketching either with charcoal or pencils. But they also teach watercolor, sculpting, painting, and even photography, although that option is not commonly used by the students.

As all Pureblood witches and wizards are trained in some form of art from a very young age, they tend to have more challenging tasks in class. The graduate program students also can continue with art class if they prefer.

Those that wish to professionally go into the art scene do have the chance to showcase their skills at a gala that Gerhardt hosts in the spring for graduating students where major artists and art dealers look for the next up and coming talent the magical world has to offer.

Professor Jess Baron has been the teacher of Gerhardt's art class since 1998, and has been able to inspire so many. Although she rarely is found outside of her classroom or the grand mess, she has become a favorite for many.
