St Roger's Hospital for Magical Illnesses is the premier medical facility in North America for magical illnesses. Founded back in 1660, it has had several additions tacked onto the original floorplan over the centuries. Exteriorly, it has also changed over the years. Originally, it appeared as a colonial mansion on a giant plantation. Today, any non-magical person that looks at the hospital would see an old abandoned hospital in a private campus on the edge of a sleepy long forgotten tourist town. Abandoned resorts surround the campus meaning that not many non-magical people will ever get close to the location.
The hospital consists of seven floors, with various specialties being housed within. Among them include the cursed ward - where many wizards that unknowingly touch cursed artifacts are treated, the pediatric malady ward, and the labor and delivery ward.
The first floor contains the main atrium, cafeteria, emergency triage department, and a gift shop for visitors. The second floor is the primary floor that minor cases visit when they are admitted to St Roger's. Such minor cases include bites from magical creatures and beasts, infections from magical plants, and it holds the labor and delivery ward. The third floor houses the ICU and the contagious disease ward. The fourth floor contains the poison and potion ward, which houses more cases than the others on a regular basis from ill brewed potions or accidental poisonings, and it holds the pediatric malady ward.
The fifth floor contains within it two wards, the traumatic injury ward and the memory ward. The sixth floor contains permanent residents - most of which have such disastrous injuries that they are housed there for 24/7 care - and the seventh contains the cursed ward and where extra beds for mass casualty events - such as battles or wars - occur.
The hospital was founded by one of Gerhardt's very first students who had a talent for magical healing. Roger Wirt opened the hospital that bears his name in 1660 with a staff of only twelve and a bed capacity of thirty three. As the only medical facility in North America it had a consistent patient load for it's entire existence up to the present day. St Roger's now holds a staff of over a hundred skilled medics and have certified an additional hundred more medics that serve around North America in several capacities. One of the most skilled healers to come from St Roger's certification is Madam Esmae, the current Magical Healing professor at Gerhardt.
